RANDOM TRIVIA

Name: Suou-no-kuni [ Žü–h‘- Suou Country ]
Era: after ancient times

Information: The ancient name of of the eastern portion of Yamaguchi prefecture. Japan's unique Suzenji was there from the year 827 to 977. It was the country that was taxed by the Imperial house in order to build Toudai-ji in the Kamakura period. Ouchi continued to prosper until the Feudal Age due to his success in tracking down and killing the Tairas. After that, until the end of the Edo period, Mouri was the ruler. The area produces rice, salt, paper, and wax.
If you had any doubt at all that the Persona series is a game aimed towards female fans, the Ancestral Personae should have eliminated that. *laugh*

SUOU TATSUNOSHIN [Žü–h@’C”Vi] You might notice that his name is written completely different than (Suou) Tatsuya or (Sudou) Tatsuya.
I am Suou Tatsunoshin...I understand...so those two are my descendants...This time for certain, together we will destroy the malice that is Kiyotada!
"A samurai who lived in the Period of the Warring States, a vassal of the warlord Sumaru Kiyotada who ruled the area surrounding Sumaru City. In order to defeat Kiyotada, who had become a tyrant, and to prevent the spread of his evil, Tatsunoshin became a mummy himself and continues to guard Sumaru City. It is supposed that he is the ancestor of the modern Suou brothers."

In the game, you find out that Suou, his ninja master Kuroda Junnosuke, and the princess Amano Maihime all attacked Kiyotada. Maihime was killed by a spear in the battle, and after defeating Kiyotada, Tatsunoshin ordered Junnosuke to set fire to Sumaru Castle while he himself remained inside with the body of Maihime.

Although he's supposedly from the Feudal era (1467-1616), his armor appears to be from the Kamakura period (1185-1333) (sans horned helmet; I understand the horns signified high rank.)

If you get the rumor of his existence from Kashihara at Kismet, then you can find his shrine on the 7th floor of Sumaru Castle. Inside the shrine is Tatsunoshin's mummy, guarded by Kuroda Junnosuke (if you filled up Junnosuke's collection box on the way up to the asylum on Mt. Katatsumuri). He only has two attacks - Straight Slash and Mighty Swing - so he's not THAT useful unless you can summon all three Ancestrals and do the Tenchu-Satsu fusion.

KURODA JUNNOSUKE [ •“c@ƒ”V‰î ]
Oh, are you...the descendant of Maihime-sama?
This time, I am glad that I could safely escape and protect the one who continues her lineage.

Kuroda Junnosuke was a ninja master that served Suou Tatsunoshin. After Tatsunoshin's death, he took the name of "Master Fuyou" [ •‡—u - Master Lotus *laugh*] and started a school of martial arts called Mokujinken [ –ؐlŒ - "fist of the wooden person"]. (Note: Besides the whole Fuyou = lotus = flower = Jun connection, Kya thinks there's a joke involved: Fuyou [ •s—v ] = "useless, unnecessary". *laugh* Looks like they're admitting that Junnosuke is just pandering to the female fans!) After his death, his ghost haunts the chamber housing the mummy of Tatsunoshin. The in-game sprite for Junnosuke looks so strange because he's wearing studded leather armor and a cowl that covers his face, only exposing his eyes.

You can summon him if you completely fill up the offering box dedicated to Master Fuyou on the slopes of Mt. Katatsumuri early in the game - that's 10,000 yen. He requires 4 FOOL cards, but his return item is the Karma Ring, a useful accessory that adds STR+15 to your stats. (So if you ported one over from Tsumi, you can have two!) The Karma Ring can also be used to get the Material Card "Champion" from the demon Alice, so you can have Alice as a persona. (BTW; it's not true that Katsuya has to be the one wearing the Karma Ring and leading the contact with Alice to get her to hand over the card. I did that myself - Katsuya + Maya, and then she immediately talked and handed over the card - but Kya had the Karma Ring on Tatsuya, and started off the "Comparing Heights" contact with Tatsuya + Katsuya, and Alice still gave her the card. I think the only constant is that whoever's wearing the ring has to lead the contact.)

AMANO MAIHIME [ “V–ì •‘•P ]
I am Amano Maihime...Ah...To be seeing my final descendant in such a manner...My love wasn't futile, was it...
Amano Maihime was the lover of Suou Tatsunoshin, and was killed in the battle with Sumaru Kiyotada. Her mummy continues to guard the city of Sumaru. If you get the rumor of her existence from Nishitani Setsu, the old lady in front of Araya, you can find her shrine on the third floor of Sumaru Castle.

Maihime seems to be wearing a Kamakura-period kimono, matching Tatsunoshin's armor. Damn, a 13-layer kimono.

SO! YOU SUMMONED ALL THREE! NOW WHAT?
Go for the fusion Tenchu-Satsu [ “VænŽE ] (Divine Retribution Kill). It'll kill Gozen in one cast.
    1. Deadly Needle (Junnosuke Kuroda)
    2. Dance of Protection (Maihime Amano)
    3. Mighty Swing (Suou Tatsunoshin)
